Gagosian Gallery

I did some research about Gagosian Gallery. Mainly just out of interest and also for future career opportunities. Who knows, right? Oh, I just love love contemporary/modern art.

Larry Gagosian set up his first gallery in 1979 in Los Angeles.
It is now a multinational corporation with 11 branches around the world - New York, Beverly Hills, Athens, Rome, Paris, Geneva and Hong Kong. Art insiders and devotees refer to his venture as Gagosianopolis. It's like a one-man-museum. Larry Gagosian understands the intense coupling between art and money. He knows how to do prosperous marketing campaigns by putting younger artists' works next to those of Warhol and Lichtenstein. Gagosian Gallery maximizes their careers.
He maintains the price level of its artists by actively playing a role at art auctions + manipulates prices.
Larry Gagosian turns connoisseurship into profit - he also attracts buyers from the new economies. Nevertheless, Gagosian artists remain independent.
Rauschenberg, de Kooning, Hirst, Newman - they are all on the bandwagon.
Larry Gagosian forges ahead, he's fearless and determined.
A supersized slice of zeitgeist.

Wow.
